Our first day in Nanchang!

We toured Nanchang today.  What a beautiful city!  Our new blog picture (at top) is of an old pavilion built in 653 A.D.  Along the way, we browsed through different little shops.  Nanchang is known for its Porcelain; therefore, we bought a couple of small things for Ruthey to have someday.  Kailey bought some Chinese paint brushes.  Kailey is such a talented artist and so those brushes will be a great treasure to have from her sisters homeland.
Well... then there was the trip to Walmart Supercenter, again.  We needed more babyfood and wipes, so we thought we'd be brave and venture out.  Let's just say our taxi ride was a scary adventure.  Greg says it would scare any nascar driver to death.  I thought we were going to die right here in Nanchang.  I just held on to Ruthey (no seatbelts) and prayed :).  D.C. traffic and drivers are nothing compared to here.
This evening we went to a local restaurant that friends from AL told us about (thanks Lisa and Russ).  The owner is from Texas.  It was great and we all consider it our favorite so far.  I think we are going back tomorrow.
Now.. for Ruthey...
We just feel like she has always been a part of us.  She really is bonding well with us.  We experienced some tears tonight that we hadn't seen from her.  With orphans, tears are good.  We are grateful for those tears and that she knows we are there for her.  She was just overly tired and finally went to sleep.  This really only lasted 15 minutes.  Brady and Kailey were concerned because she hadn't cried much.  We assured them both it's very healthy and normal.
We truly are all just head over hills in love with this precious little girl.  She already has us wrapped around her finger.  On Sunday evening when we met her, she had cookies in both hands holdng them as tight as she could.  Now, when we give her teething cookies, she opens her mouth for us to feed her.  She doesn't want to hold them.  We might all just be spoiling her a little bit :).
Tomorrow, we travel two hours to Ruthey's orphanage.  We will meet her Nanny that has taken care of her up until now.   Of all the things we could see in China, this was the one thing we requested.  Please pray for us.  It may be a little emotional.  I can't wait to meet her Nanny and thank her for taking care of Ruthey.  Will share more tomorrow after visiting.

"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are his judgments, and unfathomable his ways!"  Romans 11:33
