Our visit to Ruthey's orphanage

This was Ruthey's nanny....she cried the whole time she held her.

The orphanage fed us this huge meal.  It included turtle and duck necks.
Today was a long day as we traveled two hours to Ruthey's orphanage.  Driving throughout the country side of China, I was reminded how blessed we are.  I found myself just praying for these precious people.  Needless to say, today was very emotional and we are all drained.
My prayer is that my family never forgets the faces we saw today and that our lives are forever changed.  I'm reminded that God knows each of them by name and loves each of them as far as the East is from the West.
"Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world,
red and yellow, black and white, THEY are precious in HIS sight...
Jesus loves the little children of the world".
Just a fun note.... Ruthey doesn't mind getting her picture made UNLESS I am the one taking it.  She doesn't like me being behind the camera.  It's hilarious.  :)

Check out the post below.  I've added more pictures of Ruthey from our day in Nanchang.

  1. I know that this was an emotional day for you all. I carry the memories of our visit to Noah's Orphanage with me always. As you said God knows all of these people by name and be pray His blessings over them all.

  2. I am cracking up at the hair bow in Ruthey's hair. How precious is that??

I'm so thankful you can experience these days as a family. Seeing the countryside of China will no doubt allow you to remember "the least of these". May He use you mightily as you finish this race with perseverence and strength.

Before His precious throne of grace...Mitzie

  3. This verse gave me a lot of comfort when I returned from China. Maybe it will you too.

For He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.

    Ps. 72:12-14

  4. I've been praying a lot for you the last couple days. I was pretty sure the trip to the orphanage would be emotional. I am so glad though that you were able to see where Ruthey has been, meet her Nanny and just KNOW about where she came from. I can only imagine how she will ask for you to tell her about these days and these experiences later in her life. :) Can't wait to talk to you when you get back!!!! All our love and prayers-
    Kimberly :)
